The compilation is dedicated to the great character from the era of the Soviet transformation of the state and society of Russia. It is based on the archive documents, most of which are publicated for the first time. The compilation reveals the role of Edvard Gylling in the creation of autonomous education in the North-West of Russian SFSR. Moreover, it shows the stages of his work as the leader of the Karelian Labor Commune and Karelian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic. The publication is intended for a wide range of readers, equipped with a scientific and reference apparatus and photographs.

Collection of memoirs of residents of the Karelian village Chalna about the years of the Great Patriotic War, which were their childhood and youth. The introductory articles to the compilation were written by Svetlana Yalovitsyna, a Candidate of Historical Sciences, Senior Researcher of Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Research Centre of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Dmitry Ikko, a researcher, and Inna Nippolainen, a Finnish translator. The book was published by Charitable Foundation "Health of Karelia" within the framework of the project "Fates Scorched by War".

Ortjo Stepanov's novel introduces readers to the destinies of the inhabitants of northern Karelian village in the war and post-war years. It is a continuation of the story "Kinsfolk", which recreated a picture of the life of the village, from the 1920s to 1941.

"This compilation is designed precisely for those who do not know that today's Karelian writing, new terminology, and language resources exist. Or for those who do not believe in the vitality of the Karelian language and, by pushing it off, prioritizes the knowledge of international languages," states the author.

It is intended for parents, language activists, teachers of native language, i.e everyone interested in the revival of the Karelian language. The practics, methodologies, pieces of advice and examples, presented in the edition, are aimed at motivating the reader, helping him return the Karelian language, first of all, to the family, teaching his child the Karelian language.
